Oliver Lee Memorial State Park, Day 2

It sure is pretty out here.

Morning breaks at Oliver Lee

After finishing Kathryn’s schooling for the day, Mary went to look at more cacti.

Strawpile Hedgehog cacti

She is really enjoying the variety to be seen out here.

Helpfully labeled

This afternoon, Kathryn and I hiked a couple miles up Dog Canyon. This is a very interesting trail as the flora changes with the change in altitude.

Most of the way up the first rise

I’m planning on hiking as much of this trail as I can tomorrow. But for today, I was happy to be out here with my daughter.

A shady spot to enjoy the view

I really enjoy the time we get to spend together seeing new sights and trying new things.
